The project aims to investigate and promote the formation of energy communities in two districts of Malmö—Kirseberg and Augustenborg—with a focus on inclusion, equity, and sustainability. The objective is to develop sharing models and business models for local energy production and use, particularly with tenants as a key target group.
The project maps technical, social, and economic conditions and creates local processes in which residents, property owners, and civil society actively participate. It builds on existing networks, research, and experiences from previous initiatives and ultimately aims to contribute to a replicable model for urban energy communities that can be scaled up in Malmö and nationally.
The results of the project will be disseminated through both local and national networks, with the potential to strengthen both the climate transition and social sustainability.
